Therefore, Nippon Liner considers it a significant responsibility to contribute to society and deliver value through its business activities.
While contributing to the reduction of road traffic accidents, it is also crucial to ensure that Japan’s infrastructure is robust, strong, and resilient in preparation for unforeseen natural disasters and potential catastrophic situations.
Through our business of developing social infrastructure, we believe that it is our duty at Nippon Liner to continue protecting the invaluable happiness of all people. We will continue to grow as a company while delivering more “safety, smoothness, and comfort” to society.
1. Elimination of Road Traffic Accidents
-
Reduction of Traffic Accidents through Improvement of Road MarkingsOne of the causes of the many traffic accidents that occur every year is that road markings are becoming difficult to see. Nippon Liner’s main business is line marking work and the development and sales of related paint. We contribute to road traffic safety measures by not only improving the durability of road markings so they remain visible, but also by providing products and methods that enhance visibility at night or in rainy conditions, and that can alert drivers.
-
Providing Road Traffic Safety ProductsIn addition to road markings, Nippon Liner offers a wide variety of products designed to ensure road traffic safety. By expanding our product lineup to flexibly meet diverse needs, we strive to achieve road traffic safety through our products.
-
Ensuring Safety on Residential RoadsRoads are an essential part of people’s daily lives, but there are often regrettable traffic accidents where children and the elderly are victims. Since its founding, Nippon Liner has consistently worked toward “the elimination of traffic accidents.” Through the installation of various traffic safety products, we strive to ensure a safe and secure living environment for communities, aiming to achieve “Vision Zero.”
2. Contribution to National Resilience
-
High Durability of Bridges through Repair and ReinforcementCurrently, many bridges are rapidly aging. Therefore, it is predicted that these bridges will require many repairs and replacement, making the high durability of bridges essential. Bridges are vital lifelines that support our lives and economy and they must continue to function safely for a long time. So that bridges can fulfill their role as infrastructure crucial to local communities and the nation, we are committed to research and development aimed at further extending the lifespan of bridges.
-
Heat-insulating Pavement Technology for Long Life of Asphalt PavementApplying heat-insulating pavement technology to the surface of asphalt pavement reduces heat buildup, preventing deterioration such as rutting. Heat-insulating pavement technology not only mitigates the heat island effect but also improves abrasion resistance and prevents thermal degradation, extending the lifespan of asphalt pavements.
-
Toward Autonomous DrivingAutonomous vehicles are currently being developed, and road markings play a crucial role in controlling the automation of driving. Since unreadable road markings can significantly impact safe autonomous driving, it is essential to ensure the long life of these markings. Nippon Liner participates in joint research on autonomous driving with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the National Institute for Land and Infrastructure Management, working together with the Government to promote the elimination of road traffic accidents.
7. Creation of a Comfortable Workplace Environment
-
Health and Productivity Management Organization Certification SystemNippon Liner has been certified as a “Health and Productivity Management Organization” for two consecutive fiscal years in 2024 and 2025. Furthermore, in fiscal year 2025, it was recognized for the first time as “Next Bright 1000,” in light of its potential for future growth. In fiscal year 2026, we aim to be among the top 500 companies in the small and medium-sized enterprise category, receiving the title of “Bright 500.”
Environmental Initiatives
Currently, various environmental problems are becoming increasingly serious on a global scale, threatening not only human well-being but also the future of our planet. Therefore, further action is urgently needed.
In particular, our business activities rely on environmental resources, and we are closely linked to environmental issues.
Nippon Liner consistently adheres to environmental regulations in all aspects of its operations, including product development and improvement, worksite practices, and product use and disposal, and always considers the rich global environment when conducting its business.
We have always taken action to protect the global environment while striving for business expansion and company growth.
We will continue to provide people with safe and comfortable living environments while actively addressing climate change and other environmental challenges with a sense of responsibility, aiming for a sustainable society in harmony with the global environment.
3. Climate Change Countermeasures
-
Mitigating the Heat Island Effect with Heat-insulating PavementHeat-insulating pavement efficiently reflects near-infrared radiation contained in sunlight, suppressing road surface temperature rises and mitigating the heat island effect. Furthermore, beyond addressing the heat island effect, it also suppresses asphalt deterioration, contributing to pavement longevity. Nippon Liner strives to achieve road construction that is kind to people, cities, and the environment through the use of heat-insulating pavement.
-
Developing and Using Paints That Are Almost Free of VOCsNippon Liner is developing water-based road marking materials that are environmentally friendly and exempt from legal restrictions as hazardous materials and are almost free of VOCs (volatile organic compounds). VOCs can cause air pollution, and some even have carcinogenic properties, so these paints are kind to both the environment and people’s health. We will continue our research and development efforts to promote eco-friendly activities. As part of our initiatives to decarbonize road marking work, we are developing water-based road marking materials, next-generation construction equipment and paints, and new products.
4. Decarbonization Efforts
-
Reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Road Marking WorkAs part of our initiatives to decarbonize road marking work, we are developing water-based road marking materials, next-generation construction equipment and paints, and new products. While conventional road marking materials sometimes use solvents, we have developed water-based road marking materials that can reduce greenhouse gas emissions during construction and actively propose switching to water-based materials. We are also working on introducing and developing next-generation construction equipment and various products that can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
-
Other Activities for Reducing Greenhouse Gas EmissionsWhile reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our business operations is important, we are also working to reduce emissions outside of our company, such as electricity consumption by suppliers and business sites. The Sekisui Jushi Group Sustainability Promotion Committee regularly reviews CO2 emissions across the entire Sekisui Jushi Group and repeatedly reflects on and implements countermeasures to achieve further emission reductions.
5. Promotion of Plastic Reduction
-
Developing Products Using Eco-friendly MaterialsIn recent years, biomass materials have been attracting attention as a crucial element of sustainable development. Nippon Liner has begun developing road marking materials that utilize these eco-friendly materials. Through the sale of these products, we aim to reduce the use of petroleum-based materials and contribute to achieving a plastic-free society.
-
Reducing Plastic in PackagingWe are contributing to plastic reduction and waste reduction by adopting dissolving bags to package road marking materials, which were previously made of plastic. In addition to the road marking materials that currently use dissolving bags, we will consider and implement the use of dissolving bags for other paints in the future. We will also actively develop paints and products that utilize eco-friendly “bioplastics,” and replace plastic containers with other environmentally friendly materials to further reduce plastic use.
6. Contribution to the Circular Economy
-
Thorough Waste ReductionWe have always been mindful of how to minimize waste generated during our business operations and help to build the circular economy. Currently, all employees are encouraged to practice the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) in their daily activities. Additionally, for the stage after product sale, Nippon Liner is establishing an environment where we can responsibly collect and recycle our own products. Looking ahead, we will continue to reduce the environmental burden of both existing and new products and contribute to the creation of a more sustainable Earth.

Nippon Liner’s Vision for the Future
In recent years, companies are increasingly being asked to contribute to sustainability by society, and Nippon Liner views this trend as a major business opportunity.
Humanity and society face many challenges and it is predicted that we will encounter various difficulties in the future. However, Nippon Liner will continue to create a sustainable society that supports all people and the environment through its business activities, striving to grow as a highly respected company.
[Future Initiatives and Goals for Nippon Liner]
